Ingredients
Cookie Dough
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 ¾ cups sifted flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
Cinnamon-Sugar Coating
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Cream wet ingredients: Cream the shortening, white sugar, and eggs together until thoroughly combined and smooth.
- Add dry ingredients: Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly to form a dough.
- Chill: Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Prep oven & coating: Preheat oven to 400°F. In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon for the coating.
- Shape & roll: Roll chilled dough into balls approximately the size of walnuts, then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
- Bake: Place on baking sheets and bake at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes, until lightly brown around the edges but still soft in the center. Allow to cool before serving!
