Ingredients
- 12 oz sausage links
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 2 eggs
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- Margarine or butter (for greasing the baking dish)

Instructions
- Prep oven & dish: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 12x8-inch baking dish with margarine or butter.
- Cook sausage: In a covered skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage links in 2 tbsp of water for 5 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking until the sausages are browned. Drain well and set aside.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a bowl, combine the mushroom soup and eggs, mixing well. Gradually stir in the milk and oil until smooth.
- Mix dry ingredients & combine: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, and baking powder. Add the soup mixture, stirring just until moistened (do not overmix).
- Assemble & bake: Pour the batter into the greased baking dish. Arrange the cooked sausage links on top of the batter. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, or until the bread springs back when lightly touched.
Serving Options
Serve warm with honey, maple syrup, or your favorite fruit preserves drizzled on top!
